Why is personal growth important to me? This:
“If you don’t heal from what hurt you, you’ll bleed on people who didn’t cut you.”
As a mom with two daughters, I feel this DEEP in my soul.
I’ve been working hard to unpack so I don’t bleed all over my babies anymore, and so can you.
I am sharing the tools and resources I’ve found helpful as I sort through my baggage, such as information on neuroplasticity, resilience, and the many physical and psychological benefits of incorporating artistic expression and mindful movement in your life. You can also find information on therapy, grief, postpartum mental health, and what to do when you or a loved one is in crisis mode.
Whatever kind of life you lead and whatever kind of baggage you carry with you, you can find the tools you need to unpack here, too.
Follow me on IG and FB at Has Baggage, Still Travels for content to cultivate our best selves, and feel free to share your experiences in the comments. The more we make these processes visible, the better off we’ll all be. Normalizing ownership in mental healthcare helps everyone.
To follow me as I unpack from loss, grief, substance use/abuse, my postpartum depression experience and more, check out my blog. Heads up, this is where I write freely about the baggage I’m unpacking. Most posts are pretty heavy and I don’t use trigger warnings. There’s also quite a bit of adult language, so here’s your warning if that’s not your thing.
I am not a mental health professional. I’m just a mom with a past, working hard to not bleed on the people I love most.
Life is too short to haul around painful baggage. We are all works in progress, not a single one of us is “done.”
Thanks for joining me here. Time to unpack!
